"Children must go to school and not to work."

My idea is that children must go to school and not to work. Every society so fortified has every chance of surviving because children are the future of every society.
This is my view and for this reasons the Azione Verde is found. Children are the carnal of every active society. If they are well fed, cared for and well educated, the society grows in the same way and where the reverse is the case, the survival of such a society is in doubt and hardly does it survive. Our eternal engagement as adults is not corrupting children but educating them, not exploiting but building them up, not suppressing and oppressing but showing them the way of truth and reality. In Africa, where children are abandoned at the slightest excuses, used for hard labour and exploited negatively, we want to give children meaningful education, teach ideologies and reality. We need to give them the reason for the things they will believe and then direct them in the things they will believe. Children must learn to love. This is an essential part of this education. They must learn to love their family, their fathers and mothers, their brothers and sisters. They must learn to love their environment, their society, their fatherland and entire humanity. They must learn to construct things and not only cram principles of construction. They have to know the foundations of their reality before learning to repeat axioms. By sound education, children will be made to believe in themselves and not live for the fear of parents and teachers. In actual fact the right education is making every man the architect of his own destiny. By way of right logic every man was a child, every child would be a man.

An annoying fact.
The exodus of young Africans into Europe and America is nothing to tell mama about. Whereas here in Europe and America, the young people have liberty to choose a future for themselves, our young people who come here end up in tomato farms, orange farms and acid producing factories. Those who have luck enough to get decent jobs are night watchmen and receptionists. At best, they are company representatives as the case may be in the United States of America. The effect that we leave behind at home is a society inhabited by poor and ageing people run by corrupt and oppressive governments. To reorder this phenomenon, the teaching of culture, ideologies and values are important in every growing or rather developing world. The proper department is the education of children who are the right successors in every family and society. There is no other way to success, survival and development excepting the education of children who would take over tomorrow.
Growing a child is like growing a seed. It requires the right weather, right temperature, right time and the proper attention. Every good farmer must stay out in the rain and the sun to tend his seeds. Without these conditions, a farmer ends up in bad harvest. In the same vain, every society needs to do the right things for its children or suffer the bad harvest of violence and brigandry.  The case of Nigeria is a glaring one. A giant that has been unable to walk on its legs for over 40years of independence call for reflection but we have reflected enough. A lot has been written and said. Now is the moment of action. It is now the moment of healing and a good healing is always sanatio iradice – healing from the root and educating children is the only way to heal from the root.

Azione Verde is a humanitarian venture interested in tomorrow’s society. It is a new logic in the solution of social ills. We want to tell the families what they have not done for their children, what they should do for them and how to do it. We want to tell the government in Nigeria how many children are on the road, how many are being exploited and how many suffer mal nutrition and death daily. We want to expose our adults to the shameful acts of neglecting children’s rights. The initiating point of every activity or event is always crucial. We want to see every child happy and with a future to look up to. It is interested in giving scholarship to children from poor families, those abandoned and those without families. It gives information and wants to dialogue with governments and families on the necessity of educating children. We make funds available to other NGOs that ask for assistance in this regard. We want to pay lawyers and advocates of children’s rights. This is the way we can contribute to tomorrow’s society.
Apart from sourcing scholarships, the Azione Verde collaborates with the diocese of Orlu in building schools, recreational grounds and supplying medicines and hospital equipment for children. In short, every child has a right to feel as well as any other child in any other part of the world.

As an Organization, we seek Government support and the support of other International Organisations to accomplish these goals. Presently the Azione Verde has its bases in Italy, Malta, USA and the Diocese of Orlu in Nigeria.
